In 2001, Peter and Annelies Timmerman decided to switch their flower bulb company to organic cultivation. 'That will never work,' was the reaction of many people when they started. They have since proven that organic cultivation is very possible, although it requires some adjustments in cultivation. Because organic flower bulbs require more space, they work on a smaller scale and the work is more labor-intensive. In addition, a lot of attention is paid to the soil, weed pressure, and storage, in order to deliver the healthiest possible product.
